He added: “He’s a southpaw, he’s been combating orthodoxes his entire life, we combat southpaws as rapidly as in a blue moon.

“I’m doing lots of ring work, sure fighters do lots of freeway works, pads, baggage, shadow boxing.

“But with a southpaw, it’s all to do with positioning and we’re doing ring work, a lot of southpaws are counterpunchers.”

AJ is relishing his upcoming battle with his fellow Olympic gold medallist, saying: “The date is ready and we’re absolutely locked in.
