David Beckham salutes NHS Covid heroes at Who Cares Wins Awards

DAVID Beckham led tributes to our NHS heroes remaining evening time time, saying: “It’s incredible to be in a room full of heroes.”

The England legend spoke after being moved by tales of bravery confirmed by victims and staff over the sooner pandemic-blighted 12 months.

Becks, who took his mum Sandra to the occasion, talked about: “We all ought to be impressed by inspirational folks and that’s why The Sun’s Who Cares Wins awards is such an unbelievable evening time time.

“In the last 18 months, we have realised just how special doctors and medical teams really are.”

And the soccer ace even joked a couple of reduce on his nostril telling visitors: “I bashed it on the car door while letting the dog out.”

Piers Morgan hailed the nominees and talked about: “These people sacrificed their lives and long unbelievably arduous hours. They’ve lost colleagues, they’ve lost loved ones to save the lives of complete strangers.”

England and Aston Villa centre-back Tyrone Mings talked about: “We’re celebrating some fantastic people with amazing stories who have helped to change other people’s lives. We appreciate the NHS more now than we ever have before.”

Sun columnist Troy Deeney added: “I actually really feel it’s massively essential to recognise bizarre folks.

“Sportsmen and women, athletes at the Olympics, your complete folks already all through the limelight get highlighted sufficient, good and dangerous. But these folks correct proper right here tonight are actually the mother and father that deserve it.
