Hockey midfielder Lilima Minz retires at 27 – New (*27*) News

The midfielder, who hails from the Sundargarh district of Odisha, scored 12 targets in 156 matches for India. She was a part of the bronze medal-successful marketing campaign at the Asian Games 2014, silver medal win at the 2018 Asian Games and the gold medal victory at the FIH Women’s Series Finals at Hiroshima in 2019.

Lilima was a part of the squad when the Indian ladies certified for the Olympics for the primary time after 36 years and took half within the Rio Olympic Games in 2016. The midfielder was additionally a part of the Indian group which booked a spot within the Tokyo Olympics by means of the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers 2019 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Hockey India president Gyanendro Ningombam congratulated the 2-time Asian Games medallist for her excellent contribution to Indian Hockey.
