Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich sounded off on the “havoc” behind Northern California’s string of “sophisticated, organized retail theft” on “The Story” Wednesday.

MARK BRNOVICH: We’ve seen this and we all know that Northern California actually is the epicenter of this. As you talked about, the mixture of trial attorneys and the concern of litigation with prosecutors or state legal guidelines that make it troublesome or unimaginable to prosecute folks for all these crimes have created this excellent storm. 

And so whether or not it is a CVS retailer, whether or not it is a Home Depot, we see these organized refined retail theft and that is what it’s. It’s refined, organized retail theft. And because of that, billions of {dollars} are being wasted. We know that it is truly rising the fee to shoppers. It creates havoc in and empowers the cartels. And so in locations like Illinois, in Cook County, the place they’re refusing to prosecute all these crimes, you see increasingly more of it.
