Resident allegedly kills 2 in shooting at Maryland senior home

Two folks have been shot useless at a Maryland senior dwelling middle early Friday — allegedly by a disgruntled resident who snapped over mistreatment, based on a pal and witness.

Prince George’s County police tweeted that they have been referred to as at 9:15 a.m. to an “active scene” at Gateway Village, a church-run inexpensive rental group for these over age 62.

A close-by elementary college was put on lockdown as officers continued “searching the facility for any additional victims as well as suspects,” the power tweeted.

The lockdown was lifted round 90 minutes later because the power once more tweeted, “Scene is now secure … No ongoing threat to [the] community.”

“One male suspect – he is in custody. Two confirmed victims. Both victims are deceased,” the division tweeted, with out elaborating on the shooter or his victims.

A resident who solely gave a primary title, Donald, told WUSA9 at the scene that the shooter was a fellow senior who requested him to name the police as he surrendered after the double slaying.

Donald stated he noticed his “friend” after he “stuck my head out in the hallway” to see why a hearth alarm was blaring.

“I saw the shooter, lying on the hallway with his arms stretched out, and the weapon was [about] six feet in front of him,” he stated.

“He told me to let the police know that he was no threat, he’s ready and he’s waiting for them. He knew he was going away — he told me that,” he stated, recalling how he relayed the data to cops.

“I know what set him off — the way they treat the seniors in Gateway Village,” insisted Donald, who complained about loos being locked regardless of so many seniors having bladder points.

The home, run by National Church Residences, didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.
