Dr. Faisal Khan, the performing health director in St. Louis County, confronted criticism after an electronic mail emerged the place he known as opponents of COVID-19 restrictions “a lunatic fringe,” in accordance to a report.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that it obtained the Tuesday electronic mail from Khan to staffers on the division. His electronic mail praised the staff for his or her efforts through the pandemic, and he urged them to “ignore the lunatic fringe that exists in every society.”

“They were there one hundred years ago and will likely be around 100 years in the future,” he wrote, in accordance to the report. “They are irrelevant fools.”

Khan’s electronic mail was shared with media by Councilman Tim Fitch, a Republican who has voted towards masks necessities. By Wednesday, it was circulated on-line by critics of public health measures.
