Twitter has insisted there are no signs Rep. Maxine Waters’ account was hacked and erased, regardless of her elevating the alarm Tuesday on her still-active account.
The California Democrat had insisted that she had “been hacked and my Twitter account has been erased.”
“I know who has done this. I will take care of this,” she insisted on @RepMaxineWaters, which has a blue tick verifying it’s official.
The message baffled followers who famous the account in addition to one other she has, @MaxineWaters, had been each energetic and never erased — and Twitter later confirmed nothing suspicious appeared to have occurred.
“At this time, we’ve identified no signs of account compromise,” A Twitter spokesperson informed Reuters.
The conclusion was reached after the social media workforce had opened “lines of communication with her office and have worked with them to ensure the account is secure.”
Waters, chair of the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee, didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
